Going to Cape Coast and peering through the Door of No Return was memorable. But standing in the Assin Manso Ancestral Slave River with the ancestors was the most memorable.
I come away with a deep love and respect for my ancestors, those who I met and the land throughout the regions we traveled. It has left an indelible mark on my soul. It is very impactful, I am still digesting many of the experiences that occurred during my visit. I come away with a deep sense of pride and strength of character after my return. I am hopeful that my paintings, writings, and my art, will reflect some of the essence and energy I received while in Ghana.
I discovered an “awakening of the African Unconscious” in Ghana. I highly recommend that those who can go and experience this life-changing Pilgrimage.
To experience the tour of the slave dungeons and hear the stories of how our ancestors were captured and unjustly treated was extremely heartbreaking. It was important to hear the truth from our own brothers and sisters of Ghana.
I am changed. Transformed in ways that I will be discovering for months to come. The change has begun at a cellular level and is also emotional, psychological and spiritual. Before I left Ghana, I started asking myself ‘How do I go back?’ This question has many layers. The areas of my life I expect to be most impacted are my daily routines and connections with Spirit and the Ancestors throughout my day and week. Remembering to honor them often through my life and how I move through my days, weeks and years. I am more aware how close my ancestors are and how they are assisting me on this journey, more than I ever have been before. I am open to the new awareness and direction of my journey in personal life, business and spirituality that will continue to unfold as I move forward.
An Invitation to Partner on a Journey of Reconciliation and Healing
At God Box Tours (GBT), we proudly stand as a Pan-African interfaith/multifaith organization dedicated to celebrating and uplifting the Pan-African family. However, our commitment to self-love and cultural pride does not equate to exclusion or dismissal of others. We wholeheartedly welcome partnerships with individuals and groups from diverse backgrounds, including white ethnic religious and spiritual leaders, scholars, practitioners, social activists, organizations, schools, and interfaith or multifaith institutions.
While many of our offerings center on the experiences and legacies of the Pan-African family, we recognize that the journey of reconciliation and healing extends beyond these boundaries. We invite those who may not be descendants of enslaved ancestors from the Atlantic Slave Trade—but instead descend from the enslavers or share a deeper connection to humanity’s African origins — to join us.
GBT curates bespoke spiritual and religious tours, reconciliation experiences, and traditional ceremonies for white ethnic participants seeking to reconnect with their African roots. These journeys are for those desiring to confront historical legacies, release the weight of guilt, and move toward a shared healing. We believe that the transformative power of repentance, forgiveness, and reconciliation — core tenets of liberation — can bridge divides and foster profound personal and communal growth.
If this mission resonates with you, we invite you to join us on a spiritual journey of healing and discovery. Together, we can uncover paths to reconciliation and liberation in ways beyond what we can imagine.
